There are plenty of good reasons to take your children camping. Kids can keep themselves amused for hours just playing around the camp site or spotting the local wildlife. They also find lots of uses for water especially if there are sandy shores if you are camping on the coast.

When taking children camping, be sure to take a first-aid kit. Include bug repellent and anti-itch ointment for insect bites. Make sure that you have an alternate plan, a hotel nearby may be necessary if the weather turns ugly or your child just has enough of the great outdoors.

Given the chance, your children will come home with a better understanding of nature and the local wildlife. Even the smallest bug can be a source of endless amazement, and a chance for you to share something very special with your youngsters that will remain with them for a lifetime.
